Fender USA Professional Telecaster Butterscotch Blonde Maple Neck (2019)

The American Professional Series arrived in January 2017 taking over from the long-standing “Standard” series and brings a few new features to this iconic guitar model. This Telecaster has an Alder body finished in a butterscotch blonde hard wearing gloss polyurethane. The Maple neck, with Maple fingerboard has a modern deep “C” profile, designed for speed and comfort; it's equally at home playing big chords or intricate lead work. 22 Narrow Tall frets, a 9.5" radius and 25.5" scale length make this Telecaster feel familiar and comfortable.
Personal Comment:
This was my second guitar purchase as I returned to guitar after a 40 year break from performing and recording. And once again, like the Stratocaster Pro model listed on this website, there was an initial confusion regarding the numerous guitar models available, and again, after much homework I purchased this 2019 Telecaster model on-line. As I took the guitar from its case, as with the Stratocaster it brought back memories as my very first guitar as a young lad was a Telecaster (Japanese copy) and I immediately loved the feel and playability of this guitar. Yet once again, I was happy for a while… until the Custom Shop versions would take my interest in time to come. Despite being overshadowed by the Custom shop models I still find this Professional model such a comfortable guitar to play and depending how you set an amplifier or pedals, it’s a really great sounding guitar and super versatile. While I do like this guitar very much, and I would be sorry to see it go, however as I don’t play it regularly it will be going up for sale.
