Latest Chit Chat: (February 2026)
At the end of 2025 and moving into 2026 I purchased a number of items that would require me to build a whole new pedal board along with Fender's Telepath Wireless Radio System. You can see these reviews on my guitar channel.
Welcome to the New Website folks! it's still a work in progress, however there's already a fair bit of content to view and lots of videos linked from my YouTube channel. If you have any suggestions please don't hesitate to drop me an email or even better, strike up a conversation on the YouTube message board.

As always I enjoy hearing what others are up to as I learn so many new things about equipment and software, and really appreciate folks taking time to chat. All the best... Stu
Epiphone Flying V Korina 58
Okay, this is a new guitar brand for me and one I have never paid much attention to. As a fan of the original Gibson 1958 Korina Flying V and an admirer of the Custom Shop re-issue model, the cost for either is prohibitive. While Epiphone have produced an earlier copy of this guitar model it fell short in far too many areas to get my interest. However, in February of 2023 Epiphone and the Gibson Custom Shop came together to produce this latest model.
This newer model is made with solid Korina – two pieces for the body. The Hum-bucking pick-ups are Gibson Burst-buckers – BB1 in the neck and BB2 in the bridge. The CTS Potentiometers are 500k with a Mallory resistor and Switchcraft 3 way toggle and input jack socket. Check-out my Channel review on this.
Fender Telepath Wireless System:
The wireless system operates at a frequency of 5.8GHz and Fender states a wireless range of 70 feet. The system supports up to 4 concurrent channels. According to Fender you can expect 8 hours battery life and a 2 hour recharge rate – and I can’t comment on this at this present time.
Boss GE7 Graphic Equaliser Pedal:
This particular pedal is the latest version – The GE-7 (B) and is finished in a light warm grey colour. On the face of the pedal there are 8 sliders – 7 of which are frequency level sliders going from -
100, 200, 400, 800, 1.6k, 3.2k & 6.4k – all of which can be set individually at “0” or up to plus15db or minus15db. The last slider on the far right is for setting the overall volume or Gain level
Pedaltrain Classic 1 Board Project:
As my pedal collection grew it was time to build a new pedal-board and in a recent video review I cover building a pedal-board in full. Covering – The Pedaltrain Classic 1, CIOKS 7&8 Power Supplies, GigRig Quartermaster QMX6 Switcher / Looper, Evidence Audio Solderless Patch Cables, Cable Tidy Accessories, Nano Grab Tape, Pedal-Chain Connection and Empress Buffers…
Magnet Flip:
In the coming weeks I'm trying to get around to flipping the magnet in the neck Burstbucker pick-up in the Les Paul 60s Standard. It's not a difficult thing to do for the average DIY person but it still needs to be done with care taken not to damage the windings.
For those unfamiliar with this term. Simply put, it's reversing the magnetic polarity which results in what is commonly called an "out-of-phase" tone. One of the best known guitar names of the 60s who used this tone was Peter Green from Fleetwood Mac for which his Les Paul guitar would become famously known as the "Greeny".
