Personal Comment:
Before I make my own personal comment I will preface this with a general statement so the reader understands what I'm seeking to convey. EFX pedals are very much a personal choice although clearly, some pedals have more features than others and build cost will have a bearing on what you are getting for your money. Another point to raise is that, pedals may react differently depending on the amplifier in use or whether the pedals are going straight into the front of an amp or are routed via an amplifiers effects loop.
As I continue my guitar journey, and with certain guitar pick-ups with well known noise issues, I came to the "Noise Gate" pedal show quite late on. However, once I did I took a good bit of time checking out the many products available and finally settled on the TC Sentry pedal. While it needs to be used with care I certainly appreciate how well it cleans up unwanted hum, noise and other irritating sounds. I use it a lot. Typical TC Electronics construction, built like a tank.
