Nobels ODR Natural Overdrive (V1) Mini Pedal:
What does Nobels say about version 2 of this overdrive pedal. The ODR-mini delivers creamy, natural overdrive, everything from pushed clean amp tones to gain-filled stacks. It has the same tones as its legendary brother the ODR-1. You‘ll love the warm mid-gain tones for rock and blues, and the screaming hard rock sounds from this little pedal. The mini features true-bypass switching, the Spectrum pot with mid-click, and fluorescent pointers on the knobs Glow-in-the-Dark). This pedal is guaranteed to be a big part of your sound while a small part of your pedalboard.
Personal Comment:
Before I make my own personal comment I will preface this with a general statement so the reader understands what I'm seeking to convey. EFX pedals are very much a personal choice although clearly, some pedals have more features than others and build cost will have a bearing on what you are getting for your money. Another point to raise is that, pedals may react differently depending on the amplifier in use or whether the pedals are going straight into the front of an amp or are routed via an amplifiers effects loop.
So, I bought the first version of the Nobels overdrive mini pedal because I heard good things about it and again I chose the mini size as at that time I wanted a very small footprint of a pedal board. While the pedal certainly had a certain charm to it and produced a variety of overdrive tones, I found that I was not really using it as I favoured other pedals to give me the boost I needed with my valve amplifiers and so it was sold off.
