MXR CSP027 Timmy Overdrive Mini Pedal:

What does MXR say. The MXR Timmy Overdrive provides a huge range of gritty, textured tones that enhance your rig’s sound while preserving its fundamental voice and in an MXR mini housing. The MXR design team worked with veteran pedal builder Paul Cochrane to select an op-amp that perfectly complements his expertly crafted design. They chose the LF353, a component well-respected by Dunlop engineers for providing high output, high gain, and hi-fi signal delivery. The resulting MXR Timmy Overdrive is a professional-grade must-have for players who want sweet, harmonic breakup that responds to playing dynamics and maintains a rig’s personality at a fraction of the standard pedal size.

Personal Comment:

Before I make my own personal comment I will preface this with a general statement so the reader understands what I'm seeking to convey. EFX pedals are very much a personal choice although clearly, some pedals have more features than others and build cost will have a bearing on what you are getting for your money. Another point to raise is that, pedals may react differently depending on the amplifier in use or whether the pedals are going straight into the front of an amp or are routed via an amplifiers effects loop.

So, I bought the MXR Timmy mini pedal because I was still searching for a really smooth overdrive. I chose the mini size as at that time I wanted a very small footprint of a pedal board. The pedal is certainly quite versatile and gives a range of tonal choices, however, I sold this pedal, not because it's not any good, it just does not work for my set-up.

Talking about pedals is a limited conversation and so click on the link above to view and hear the pedals general tones and specifications. If you want to know more about this pedal drop me an email.
