MXR M-290 Phase 95 Mini Pedal:

What does MXR say. MXR have packed two of their best Phaser circuits into one tiny little pedal! The Phase 95 integrates perfectly into your pedalboard setup without taking up too much space, while still giving you that true MXR phaser tone. The phase 90 switch will give you a classic phasing with the variable speed control. If you want subtle, long warble or crazy jet-engine strumming then you can achieve both on the phase 90 setting. The script will take out the feedback so that the phaser becomes smooth with less harsh top-end. The Phase 45 is a far less "in-your-face" style of phaser so even if you just want to use the MXR mini phase for a bit of texture over your lead solo you can do that. Or you can turn the script off and turn on your best Van Halen impersonation.

Personal Comment:

Before I make my own personal comment I will preface this with a general statement so the reader understands what I'm seeking to convey. EFX pedals are very much a personal choice although clearly, some pedals have more features than others and build cost will have a bearing on what you are getting for your money. Another point to raise is that, pedals may react differently depending on the amplifier in use or whether the pedals are going straight into the front of an amp or are routed via an amplifiers effects loop.

So, I bought the MXR Phase 90 mini pedal because I was already familiar with it and again I choose the mini size as at that time I wanted a very small footprint of a pedal board. I don't use a phaser pedal that much but it's definitely an effect that works well whether used subtly or at maximum effect. I find the pedal particularly useful for acoustic guitar and use as and when required for a specific feel.

Talking about pedals is a limited conversation and so click on the link above to view and hear the pedals general tones and specifications. If you want to know more about this pedal drop me an email.
