KRK Studio Monitors:

KRK are now owned under the "Gibson" family brand and if you go to the KRK website you can see that they continue to offer a wide range of monitor and sub-woofer units at various prices. The KRK6 and Sub-Woofer which I have in my studio are now superseded so you would need to find some old reviews to find out more information.

Personal Comment:

Home Recording Studio gear is a personal thing but certain bits of kit will always be a "must-have" and this website touches on some of the equipment I have come to use in my own recording work.

As a director of a multi-media and film production studio we have used various methods to monitor music, sound design elements and interviews. The KRK range of speakers are an affordable and well built option without breaking the bank. Personally I prefer high quality headphones when editing or doing any final music mix. However, the KRKs are well suited for clients sitting in the control room listening to their TV commercial or whatever it is that needs previewed. You will find various views out on the internet from those that love them, and others who feel they lack clarity, and colour the sound too much. As I have mentioned, I use both the monitors and high quality Neumann headphones to help me make accurate mixing choices.
